Beat Cancer Boot Camp is a fitness-based support program created to help survivors stay active during cancer treatment and beyond. Studies show that regular exercise can help relieve stress, anxiety, and combat some of the side effects common to cancer treatment such as nausea and fatigue.

Beat Cancer Boot Camp incorporates a variety of exercises designed to be effective and challenging for all fitness levels as participants move through various stages of treatment, recovery, and beyond.

Classes are held in a park setting, on a custom-designed exercise course, with plenty of fresh air and freedom to move. For more information and to signup for fitness classes, call
(520) 546-1601.

Anita has worked in the medical field for over 25 years and is a clinical liaison for patients undergoing biopsies and other procedures. Through her work, she meets cancer survivors every day -- in various stages of treatment and recovery -- and most of them are looking for a way to cope more effectively. Beginning in 2001, Anita attended boot camp classes and learned Navy Seal exercises, and in 2004 she adapted these techniques to start an intensive support group built around physical fitness instead of “woe is me”. Anita shares her knowledge, experience, and infectious enthusiasm. She is recognized throughout the Tucson community for her contribution to cancer awareness, and women’s health.
